Şerifzâde lakabıyla tanınan Mehmed Efendi’nin oğludur. Babası ağadır ve
çiftçilikle uğraşmıştır. 1883-1884’de doğmuştur162.
Hasan Şerifzâde Efendi ilk eğitimine Geyve kazasına bağlı Kışla Çay
köyünde başlamış ve Arapça eğitimi almıştır. Daha sonra İstanbul’a giderek
Mehmed Şakir Efendi’den ders almıştır. 1909 -1910’de icâzetnâme aldıktan sonra
Medresetü’l Kudât’ı kazanmış ve buradan 1913-1914’te yüksek derece ile mezun
olmuştur. Türkçe ve Arapça konuşup yazabilmektedir163.
