AH years are the ordering clock. Birth-year differences subtract uncontested AH birth and event year numbers; they are not exact ages or birthdays. Separately recorded first-job age fields can use a different or unresolved convention and are not substituted into this calculation. Gregorian spans identify the calendar years touched by the whole AH year, using the tabular Islamic calendar. Original source Gregorian labels remain separate evidence.
