Life and register readings
The life of Mehmed Zekeriya Efendi began in Dagistan in 1857/58 (AH 1274). At about 15, in 1872/73, Mehmed Zekeriya began work. The annual lists begin in 1872/73, with Mehmed Zekeriya as Suriye Vilayeti tahrir-i emlak kalemi mülazımı and no place named. Alongside, the lists for 1878 to 1888 give a second post, in Acre as Tahrir kalemi yevmiye kâtibi. Alongside, the lists for 1887/88 give a second post, in Latakia as Merkez vergi kâtibi. The lists give Infisal for 1877/78 instead of a title.
