Life and register readings
Süleyman Sami Efendi was born in Ürgüp in 1873/74 (AH 1290); the father was a merchant (tüccar). At about 27, in 1900/01, Süleyman Sami began work, on a first salary of 200 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1900/01, with Süleyman Sami as Ziraat Bankası süvari tahsildarı and no place named. The last post was in Nevşehir in 1908/09.
