Life and register readings
Born in Didymoteicho (Dimetoka) in 1839/40 (AH 1255), Mehmed Şakir Efendi was the child of a merchant (tüccar). Mehmed Şakir began work in 1861/62, at about 22. The annual lists begin in 1861/62, with Mehmed Şakir as Tapu Kalemi stajyeri and no place named. For 1889 to 1892 the lists have no entry. The lists give Vefat (death) for 1892/93 instead of a title.
