Life and register readings
Mustafa Efendi was born in Maraş, Cakcakı Mahallesi in 1825/26 (AH 1241); the father's occupation was "Maraş eski müftüsü". At about 49, in 1875/76, Mustafa began work in Kahramanmaraş (Maraş), on a first salary of 250 kuruş. Only 41 of the 5,664 officials whose age at first work is known began work at 49 or older. From the first annual entry, for 1875/76, to 1909/10, every annual entry places Mustafa in the same post, Meclis-i Temyiz azalığı, in Kahramanmaraş.
