1292 (1875 / 1876) tarihinde Tokat’ın Çördük Köyü’nde doğmuştur.
Sıbyan mektebinde ilimlere giriş derslerini okuduktan sonra, bir süre Arapça ve
Farsça dersleri almıştır. Türkçe okuyup yazabilmektedir. H. 1312 (1894 / 1895)
