Life and register readings
Necib Niyazi Efendi was born in Muğla into the İslam community; the father's occupation was "Muğla Mevlevîhanesi postnişini (şeyh)". The first annual entry, for 1883/84 (AH 1301), names Necib Niyazi as Muhasebe Kalemi mülazımı (Görevin sona ermesi), with no place. Alongside, the lists for 1888 to 1892 give a second post, in Muğla as Emanet-i Âşar İdaresi kâtib-i sanisi. At the same time, from 1891/92, the lists also place Necib Niyazi in a post with no place named as izin (2+2 ay, İstanbul). Necib Niyazi then moved to Izmir in 1892/93. Alongside, the lists for 1892 to 1896 give a second post, in Aydın as Telgraf ve Posta Başmüdüriyeti kâtibi. Alongside, the lists for 1895 to 1912 give a second post, in Istanbul as Telgraf ve Posta Nezareti Meclis Kalemi müsevvidi ve mazerat mübeyyizi. For 1901 to 1903 the lists have no entry. The lists have no entry for 1904 to 1909. For 1910 to 1911 the lists have no entry.
Pay rose from 70 kuruş a month in 1883/84 to a peak of 1,500 in 1909/10, in Istanbul, when four in five paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1911/12.
