Hafız İbrahim E fendi'nin oğludur. 1876 senesi hicrisinde doğmuştur. Kemah
kazasında doğduğu nüfus tezkeresinde kayıtlıdır. Kemah kazası sibyan mektebinde
bir miktar dini ilimler okuduktan sonra r üştiye mektebinde bir miktar Arabi ve Farisi
okumuştur. Türkçe okuryazar olduğu tercüme-i hal varakasında kayıtlıdır.
