Mehmed Bahaddin Efendi was born in Dagistan in 1863/64 (AH 1280), into the İslam community, and the father's occupation was "Kadirî tarikatı şeyhi". Work began in 1882/83, at about 19. The first annual entry, for 1882/83, names Mehmed Bahaddin as Hazine-i Maliye Varidat Muhasebesi mülazımı, with no place. For 1883 to 1891 and 1892 to 1894 the lists have no entry.
