Born in Safranbolu, 1863/64 (AH 1280). The father’s recorded occupation was Bayezid dersiâmı ve Huzur-i Hümâyûn dersi mukarriri. Education included İstanbul’da mukaddimât-i ulûm-i ibtidâiyye; Babası İsmail Necati Efendi’nin dersleri (Bayezid). First work is recorded in 1899/1900 (AH 1317).
