Life and register readings
The life of Mehmed Kudsi Efendi began in Kırşehir in 1875/76 (AH 1292); the father's occupation was "Kengri defter-i hakani memuru". Mehmed Kudsi began work in Istanbul in 1895/96, at about 20. The first annual entry, for 1895/96, names Mehmed Kudsi as mülazım (kalem), with no place, with a rise to Zabit Katibi in 1899/1900 and to dördüncü sınıf katip in 1901/02. For 1897 to 1899 and 1902 to 1909 the lists have no entry. The lists give Infisal for 1901/02 instead of a title.
