Life and register readings
The life of Mehmed Kadri Efendi began in Balchik (Balçık) in 1863/64 (AH 1280); the father's occupation was "Fatih dersiamı". At about 19, in 1882/83, Mehmed Kadri began work, on a first salary of 215 kuruş.
