Life and register readings
Born in Erzincan, Mehmet Efendi came from the İslam community. Work began in 1870/71 (AH 1287), on a first salary of 300 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1870/71, names Mehmet as Maden kâtibi, with no place. For 1874 to 1878 the lists have no entry. Next came Istanbul from 1878 to 1879. Alongside, the lists for 1878/79 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Telgraf merkezi muhabere memuru. At the same time, from 1878 to 1880, the lists also place Mehmet in Bakırköy as Telgraf ve muhabere memuru. The annual lists then follow Mehmet to Hadımköy from 1880 to 1885.
