Life and register readings
Mehmet Efendi was born in Sivas in 1876/77 (AH 1293). At about 16, in 1892/93, Mehmet began work in Istanbul, on a first salary of 130 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1892/93, with Mehmet as Jandarma Alayı 4. Tabur 1. Bölük neferi (kayıt) in Istanbul, where the entries run to 1896/97. The lists have no entry for 1894 to 1896.
