Life and register readings
The life of Lütfullah Lütfi Nuri began in Malatya in 1858/59 (AH 1275). At about 23, in 1881/82, Lütfullah Lütfi Nuri began work in Pilmar, on a first salary of 300 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1881/82, with Lütfullah Lütfi Nuri as Bidayet Mahkemesi Başkâtibi in Pilmar. Next came a post with no place named from 1884 to 1890. Alongside, the lists for 1889 to 1906 give a second post, in Pah as a district governor (Kaymakam). The lists have no entry for 1906 to 1912. Alongside, the lists for 1891/92 give a second post, in Carsancak as Kaymakam. Lütfullah Lütfi Nuri then moved to Kiğı and Kulp from 1902 to 1906. The last post was in Malazgird in 1912/13. The salary went from 300 kuruş a month in 1881/82 to 1,250 in 1891/92, the peak, as Kaymakam in Carsancak, when 85 per cent of paid officials earned less.
