Life and register readings
Timur (Demir) Bey was born in Dagistan in 1845 (AH 1261). Work began in 1868/69, at about 23, on a first salary of 100 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1868/69, names Timur (Demir) as Hademe-i Hassa-i Şahane neferi, with no place. At the same time, from 1872 to 1902, the lists also place Timur (Demir) in Istanbul as Şehremaneti Evzan İdaresi görevlisi.
