Malatya'da Hoca Cami -i- Şerifi müderrislerinden Hüseyin Efendi'nin oğludur.
Cennetzade denilmekle bilinmektedir. H. 1295 ( 1878 – 1879 ) senesinde Malatya'da
doğduğu nüfus tezkiresinde kayıtlıdır. Dini ilimlere giriş derslerini Malatya'da
gördükten sonra Dersaâdet'e gelerek Fatih dersiamlarından Halis Efendi'den Arapça’yı
öğrenerek 23 Cemaziyelahir 1318 ( 18 Ekim 1900 ) tarihli icazet nameyi ve Mekteb -i
Hukuk-ı Şahane'den ilim ve fen derslerini öğrenere k a'lâ dereceden 21 Kanunuevvel
1320 ( 3 Ocak 1905 ) tarihli mezuniyet belgesini almıştır. Özel olarak Tarih, Coğrafya,
Hesap ve Farsça eğitimi almıştır. Arapça ve Farsça konuşup yazabildiği tercüme -i hâl
