Life and register readings
The life of Mehmet Zühtü Efendi began in Şebinkarahisar (Karahisar-ı Şarki) in 1873/74 (AH 1290). The personnel record dates the first work to 1904/05, after the first annual entry. The first annual entry, for 1895/96, names Mehmet Zühtü as askerlik (kâtip yardımcısı, başçavuş), with no place. For 1902 to 1904 the lists have no entry. Alongside, the lists for 1905/06 give a second post, in Alucra as yoklama kâtibi. At the same time, from 1909 to 1911, the lists also place Mehmet Zühtü in Niksar as tapu kâtibi.
