Life and register readings
Born in Bursa in 1839/40 (AH 1255) into the İslam community, İbrahim Efendi was the child of a tanner (debbağ). At about 29, in 1868/69, İbrahim began work. The annual lists begin in 1868/69, with İbrahim as Mulazemet and no place named. The lists have no entry for 1872 to 1877. In place of a title the lists give Tekaud for 1909/10. Entries spanning 43 years are rare, reached by fewer than 4 per cent of the 8,239 officials.
