Life and register readings
Mehmed Efendi was born in Afyonkarahisar (Karahisar-ı Sahib) in 1869/70 (AH 1286). At about 19, in 1888/89, Mehmed began work. The first annual entry, for 1892/93, names Mehmed as Defter-i Hâkânî Kalemi mülazımı, with no place.
