Sıbyan mektebinde ilk öğrenimini tamamlamıştır. Osman Vefa Efendi, İdadi
mektebi mülkiyesi de sınıfını geçmişse de mektebe devam etmemiştir. Bu şekilde
imtihana kabul olmaması mektep müdüriyetindeki yazıdan anlaşılmıştır.

- Tayin tarihi için iki çelişkili okuma vardır: 10 Haziran 1328/1910 ve 5 Haziran 1326/1908. Belge tarihi 1327'dir, bu da 1328 okumasıyla çelişir.
