Life and register readings
Mehmed Hüsnü Efendi was born in Ayvalı, Taşköprü in 1858/59 (AH 1275). Work began in Taşköprü in 1875/76, at about 16. The first annual entry, for 1875/76, places Mehmed Hüsnü in Taşköprü as Maliye Kalemi mülazımı, where the entries run to 1879/80. Alongside, the lists for 1879 to 1884 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Aşar ve Ağnam Müdürlüğü ikinci kâtibi. The lists have no entry for 1881 to 1883. At the same time, from 1883 to 1885, the lists also place Mehmed Hüsnü in Tosya as Aşar ve Ağnam başkâtibi. For 1885 to 1890 the lists have no entry. The last posts were in Bartın from 1890 to 1892 and Taşköprü again in 1894/95. The lists have no entry for 1892 to 1894. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1878/79 and 1891/92; İstifa (resignation) for 1879 to 1881; Azil (dismissal) for 1884/85.
Pay rose from 190 kuruş a month in 1877/78 to a peak of 450 in 1883/84, in Tosya, when 55 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1894/95.
