Mehmed Remzi Efendi

Mehmed Remzi Efendi was born in Didymoteicho (Dimetoka) in 1864/65 (AH 1281); the father's occupation was "Dedeağaç polis neferi". At about 17, in 1881/82, Mehmed Remzi began work, on a first salary of 200 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1881/82, with Mehmed Remzi as Bidayet Mahkemesi mübaşiri and no place named. Mehmed Remzi then moved to Alexandroupoli in 1883/84. Alongside, the lists for 1883 to 1886 give a second post, in Fethiye as Nahiye kâtibi. Alongside, the lists for 1885/86 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Askerlik nedeniyle ara. Alongside, the lists for 1885 to 1891 give a second post, in Alexandroupoli as Polis neferi. Next came Didymoteicho from 1895 to 1902. Alongside, the lists for 1901 to 1903 give a second post, in Svilengrad as Malmüdürü. Alongside, the lists for 1902 to 1910 give a second post, in Edirne as Vilayet muhasebe kalemi yevmiye kâtibi. The last posts were in Alexandroupoli again from 1911 to 1913.
