Life and register readings
Mehmed Arif Efendi was born in Medina (Medine) in 1855/56 (AH 1272); the father's occupation was "Eski Harem-i Şerif-i Nebevî müdürü". At about 15, in 1870/71, Mehmed Arif began work in Medina.
