Life and register readings
Born in Silistra (Silistre) in 1867/68 (AH 1284), Mehmet Rasim Efendi was the child of an army captain (yüzbaşı). At about 22, in 1889/90, Mehmet Rasim began work in Tekirdağ. The first annual entry, for 1889/90, places Mehmet Rasim in Tekirdağ as Düyun-ı Umumiye Müdüriyeti kalemi mülazımı.
