Life and register readings
Mehmed Emin Efendi was born in Mitrovica (Mitroviça) in 1865/66 (AH 1282); the father was a medrese teacher (müderris). At about 29, in 1894/95, Mehmed Emin began work in Mitrovica, on a first salary of 250 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1894/95, places Mehmed Emin in Mitrovica, the birthplace, as Nüfus memuru, where the entries run to 1903/04. Alongside, the lists for 1903 to 1910 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Evkaf müdürü. In place of a title the lists give Azil (dismissal) for 1903/04.
