Life and register readings
Born in Şebinkarahisar (Karahisar-ı Şarki), Mustafa Kazım Efendi was the child of a mufti (müftü). The personnel record dates the first work in Şebinkarahisar to 1896/97 (AH 1314), after the first annual entry, on a first salary of 60 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1895/96, with Mustafa Kazım as Rüşdiye diploması and no place named. Mustafa Kazım then moved back to Şebinkarahisar, the birthplace, from 1896 to 1908. The lists have no entry for 1900 to 1906. Alongside, the lists for 1907/08 give a second post, in Suşehri as Tahsil memuru.
