Life and register readings
Remzi Bey was born in Eleftheroupoli (Pravişte) in 1857/58 (AH 1274). Work began in Eleftheroupoli in 1878, at about 20, on a first salary of 400 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1878, places Remzi in Eleftheroupoli, the birthplace, as Aşar ambar memuru, where the entries run to 1887/88. The lists have no entry for 1883 to 1887 and 1888 to 1891. The last entry, for 1891/92, names Remzi as Nahiye Muduru, with no place.
