Life and register readings

İsmail Vasıf Efendi was born in Sarajevo (Saraybosna) in 1868/69 (AH 1285); the father's occupation was "Gable iskelesi rüsumat memuru". The annual lists begin in 1882/83, with İsmail Vasıf as Geçici aşar kâtibi and no place named. İsmail Vasıf then moved to Mostar from 1884 to 1886, then a post with no place named from 1889 to 1908. For 1886 to 1889 and 1890 to 1892 the lists have no entry. Alongside, the lists for 1903 to 1906 give a second post, in Izmir as Ağnam ve hayvanat icmal kâtibi. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1903/04 and 1905/06.
