Life and register readings
The life of Yervant Efendi began in Bandırma in 1864/65 (AH 1281); the father's occupation was "Rusçuk Hastahanesi sertabibi, miralay". At about 19, in 1883/84, Yervant began work in Istanbul, on a first salary of 300 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1883/84, with Yervant as Polis merkez memuru in Istanbul, where the entries run to 1890/91.
