Life and register readings
Mehmed Esad Efendi was born in Antalya in 1872/73 (AH 1289); the father's occupation was "Antalya tüccar ve ziraat reisi; belediye azası; İdare-i Mahsusa Vapurları acenteliği görevlisi". Work began in Antalya in 1887/88, at about 16. The annual lists begin in 1887/88, with Mehmed Esad as Antalya Sancağı Muhasebe Kalemi mülazımı in Antalya, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1898/99. For 1888 to 1892 the lists have no entry. Alongside, the lists for 1898/99 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Kalkan Düyun-ı Umumiye İdaresi memur vekili.
