Life and register readings
Mehmed Efendi was born in Dagistan in 1855/56 (AH 1272). At about 24, in 1879/80, Mehmed began work, on a first salary of 600 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1879/80, with Mehmed as Alakilise üçüncü kol aşar muharriri and no place named. The lists have no entry for 1880 to 1884. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1887/88.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 600 kuruş a month in 1879/80, when two in three paid officials earned less. The last annual entry is for 1887/88.
