Life and register readings
Mehmet Şükrü Efendi was born in Elbistan in 1859/60 (AH 1276); the father's occupation was "Ziraat". Work began in Elbistan in 1887/88, at about 28. The first annual entry, for 1887/88, places Mehmet Şükrü in Elbistan, the birthplace, as Mukavelat muharriri, where the entries run to 1889/90. The lists have no entry for 1890 to 1892. At the same time, from 1889/90, the lists also place Mehmet Şükrü in a post with no place named as Açığa çıkarılma. From 1892 to 1907 the annual entries place Mehmet Şükrü again in Elbistan.
