Nikogos Efendi

Annual salary study and register readings

This study view uses the annual salary reference records. The main biography brings together the wider career and its sources.

Life and register readings

Born in Erzincan, Nikogos Efendi came from the Hristiyan community; the father's occupation was "kazancı". The first salary was 400 kuruş a month. Both annual entries, for 1882/83 (AH 1300) and 1883/84, place Nikogos in Kurucay as aşar anbar memuru. The lists give Azil (dismissal) for 1883/84 instead of a title.

The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 400 kuruş a month in 1882/83, in Kurucay, when 46 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1883/84.
