Life and register readings
Mehmed Sıdkı Efendi was born in Kırşehir in 1873/74 (AH 1290); the father was a mufti (müftü). The first annual entry, for 1891/92, names Mehmed Sıdkı as bidayet mahkemesi müstantik muavini, with no place. At the same time, from 1892 to 1897, the lists also place Mehmed Sıdkı in Avanos as bidayet mahkemesi müstantik muavini. The last post was in Develi in 1898/99. The lists give Azil (dismissal) for 1896/97 instead of a title.
Pay rose from 300 kuruş a month in 1891/92 to a peak of 400 in 1894/95, in Avanos, when 44 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1898/99.
