Life and register readings
Mehmet Arif Efendi was born in Topçu karyesi in 1845/46 (AH 1262). At about 35, in 1880/81, Mehmet Arif began work. The first annual entry, for 1880/81, names Mehmet Arif as Aşar kalemi mülazımı; aşar kol memurluğu gibi geçici hizmetler, with no place. For 1881 to 1884, 1885 to 1892, 1896 to 1900 and 1903 to 1905 the lists have no entry. In place of a title the lists give Azil (dismissal) for 1902/03.
