Life and register readings
Hüseyin Tahsin Efendi was born in Kukalıca (?) in 1858/59 (AH 1275). Work began in Kardzhali (Kırcaali) in 1885/86, at about 27. The annual lists begin in 1885/86, with Hüseyin Tahsin as Yoklama kâtibi in Kardzhali. Hüseyin Tahsin then moved to Malkara from 1889 to 1892. Alongside, the lists for 1891 to 1894 give a second post, in Edirne as Edirne Emlak-ı Hümayun Komisyonu merkez muhasebe refik-i sânisi. The lists have no entry for 1894 to 1901. In place of a title the lists give Vefat (death) for 1901/02.
The salary went from 500 kuruş a month in 1889/90 to 750 in 1893/94, the peak, in Edirne, when three in four paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1901/02.
