Life and register readings
Rıdvan Beyzade Süleyman Bey was born in Hersek in 1851/52 (AH 1268). Work began in 1888/89, at about 37, on a first salary of 480 kuruş. Of the 5,664 officials whose age at first work is known, fewer than 5 per cent started at 37 or older. The annual lists begin in 1888/89, with Rıdvan Beyzade Süleyman as Nahiye Muduru and no place named, with a rise to Nahiye Muduru in 1892/93. For 1898 to 1900, 1904 to 1906 and 1907 to 1909 the lists have no entry. The lists give Azil (dismissal) for 1895/96 and 1909/10; Infisal for 1900/01 instead of a title.
