Life and register readings
Rıza Efendi was born in Pristina (Priştine) in 1878/79 (AH 1296); the father's occupation was "Kumanova mal müdürü (emekli)". Work began in Karaburun in 1898/99, at about 19, on a first salary of 250 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1898/99, places Rıza in Karaburun as Telgraf Merkezi çavuşu. For 1900 to 1909 the lists have no entry. Alongside, the lists for 1899/1900 give a second post, in Gostivar as Musil. Rıza then moved to Skopje (Üsküp) from 1909 to 1911.
