Life and register readings
Mehmet Ali Efendi was born in Kütahya in 1853/54 (AH 1270). Work began in Kütahya in 1868/69, at about 15. The first annual entry, for 1868/69, places Mehmet Ali in Kütahya, the birthplace, as Tahrir-i Emlak Kalemi mülazımı, where the entries run to 1872/73.
