Life and register readings
The life of Yusuf Cemal Efendi began in Kütahya in 1882/83 (AH 1300); the father's occupation was "Cebel-i Garbi Telgraf ve Posta Merkezi müdürü". Work began in Tripoli (Trablusgarp) in 1902/03, at about 19. The first annual entry, for 1902/03, places Yusuf Cemal in Tripoli as Telgraf ve Posta Merkezi muhabere memurluğu refakati, where the entries run to 1906/07.
