Life and register readings
İbrahim Edhem Bey was born in Kozan in 1853/54 (AH 1270). Work began in Istanbul in 1873/74, at about 19, on a first salary of 500 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1873/74, places İbrahim Edhem in Istanbul as Emlâk Yazı İşleri memuru. For 1875 to 1887 the lists have no entry. At the same time, from 1874/75, the lists also place İbrahim Edhem in Diyarbakır as İkinci hâkim. Alongside, the lists for 1874/75 give a second post, in Karataş as Nahiye Muduru. The last entries, from 1887 to 1894, name İbrahim Edhem as a district governor (Kaymakam), with no place.
