Life and register readings
The life of İhsan Efendi began in Harput in 1875/76 (AH 1292); the father's occupation was "Mısırlı Zeynep Hanım Efendi'nin harem kethüdası". At about 16, in 1890/91, İhsan began work in Hama, on a first salary of 80 kuruş.
