Life and register readings
Süleyman Efendi was born in Istanbul in 1874/75 (AH 1291); the father's occupation was "Topçu binbaşısı". Work began in 1896/97, at about 22, on a first salary of 400 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1896/97, with Süleyman as Mefruşat-ı Hümayun İdare Kalemi memuru and no place named. In place of a title the lists give Vefat (death) for 1908/09.
