Life and register readings
Mehmet Servet Efendi was born in Ürgüp in 1839/40 (AH 1255); the father's occupation was "Isparta mal müdürü". At about 16, in 1855/56, Mehmet Servet began work in Isparta. The first annual entry, for 1855/56, places Mehmet Servet in Isparta as Mal kalemi memuru, where the entries run to 1860/61. Next came Istanbul from 1861 to 1872. Alongside, the lists for 1871 to 1881 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Üsküdar Bidayet Mahkemesi hukuk dairesi kalem müdürü.
