Life and register readings
Süleyman Sabri Efendi was born in Sivas in 1819/20 (AH 1235) into the İslam community; the father's occupation was "Bölük sipahisi". Work began in Sivas in 1846/47, at about 27, on a first salary of 200 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1846/47, names Süleyman Sabri as arazi mukayyidi, with no place.
