Life and register readings
Kazım Bey was born in Golos in 1857/58 (AH 1274). At about 16, in 1874/75, Kazım began work, on a first salary of 400 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1874/75, names Kazım as Tahrirat ve meclis kâtipliği, with no place. The lists have no entry for 1880 to 1883. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1879/80.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 400 kuruş a month in 1874/75, when 43 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1883/84.
