Life and register readings
The life of İSMAİL HIZIR EFENDİ began in Istanbul in 1869/70 (AH 1286); the father's occupation was "Jandarma yüzbaşı, Kerkük Pazar ağası". At about 12, in 1880/81, İSMAİL HIZIR began work, on a first salary of 300 kuruş.
