Life and register readings
Mustafa Efendi was born in Kilis in 1850/51 (AH 1267). At about 35, in 1885/86, Mustafa began work in Kilis. The annual lists begin in 1885/86, with Mustafa as Tapu yoklama kâtibi in Kilis, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1891/92. Alongside, the lists for 1888 to 1890 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Vergi kitabeti refakati. Next came Jisr al-Shughur (Cisr-i Şugur) from 1891 to 1893, with a rise to Mal Muduru Muavini in 1891/92, then a post with no place named from 1893 to 1898.
